Principal's Message

Sean Bailey

OES Families,

Owingsville Elementary School is quite a special place.  It is a well-maintained historic building filled with very strong teachers and uncommonly kind staff. A true neighborhood school, steeped in community tradition, OES is a multi-generational school where many parents and grandparents drop their children off at the same building they once sat in as students themselves.   I had the blessing of attending OES as a student myself and have been passed the torch to carry on the great tradition of success.

I love coming to Owingsville Elementary each day, greeting students, parents, and staff members in the morning, and getting the school day started on a positive note.  It is a blessing to be able to genuinely enjoy my job every day!

My vision for our students is guide them in learning how to love one another and create an experience that instills a love for learning.  "Learning to Love!  Loving to Learn!"

As principal, there is little more joy to be found outside of changing the lives of our children for the better here in Bath County.   I am a hometown guy; being raised and living in Owingsville, and a former OES student, I have a passion for this community!   My wife, Candra, our four children, and I live just a short walk away from our building.

I graduated from Bath County High School in 2003 and then continued my education at Morehead State University where I have completed all of my post-secondary education:

  • 2009 - Bachelors in Business Administration (Business and Information Technology Education)
  • 2012 - Masters in School Administration
  • 2017 - Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) - Educational Leadership and Technology

Furthermore, I have been in ministry for over 16 years.  I am blessed to serve as the pastor of Owingsville Christian Church, where my church family is so very supportive and loving.  What an amazing opportunity it is to serve this community in both capacities.

Above all, though, my heart is in the improvement of the lives of our children in Bath County.  I do not take this calling lightly and I will intentionally strive to be a positive, encouraging, and supportive face that your child will look forward to seeing each day.

With your support, we will make your child's experience at OES amazing!

Principal
